World Exhibition of White and Spotted Crocodiles <\/h2>\n

White animals, whether albino or leucistic, are among the rare genetic variations that sometimes appear in crocodiles. In nature, they usually do not have a great chance of survival, as they are very conspicuous and often fall victim to predators. At the same time, the white color is often associated with a lower viability of these animals. As a result, they are also a big breeding problem, as it is difficult to keep them alive in the long term and their possible reproduction is one of the highlights of breeding. <\/p>\n

For these reasons, the Protiv\u00edn Crocodile Zoo, which focuses primarily on critically endangered species, has taken the liberty of creating a collection of white crocodiles as an accompanying collection.
Currently, a white Sunda gharial, a white Nile crocodile and a group of albino North American alligators are bred in
Protiv\u00edn. Thus, the Protiv\u00edn Zoo has white representatives of three subfamilies of crocodiles, which is unique in the world. <\/p>\n

Another unique feature is two spotted Nile crocodiles with blue and white spots. This is a rare piebald coloration, which is partial abinism. The male also has one light blue eye. In Europe, you will only see this coloration of crocodiles in our ZOO. <\/p>\n
